Work began early this week by the Shire of Dardanup to repair damage caused to a Burekup oval by late-night hoons.
The oval and its cricket pitch were targeted sometime during the evening of Friday, August 4.
Deep tyre tracks have severely damaged both the oval and its cricket pitch.
Fertiliser has been applied to the oval grass and sand has arrived for a fresh top-dressing, which will be carried out shortly.
A meeting has also been organised between Shire staff and members of the Burekup Cricket Club to explore the potential for preventative measures to further protect the playing surface.
