The new Glen Huon Reserve playground will open and construction fences be removed on Thursday with final pieces of the puzzle almost in place.
The playground marks the final stage of the $6.6 million Glen Huon Reserve redevelopment.
An all-abilities carousel, ordered from an international supplier, is still working its way through customs and will be added to the playground as soon as it’s available.
Most recent additions to the playground project have been two gazebos, barbecues, drink fountains, park benches, paths, softfall surfaces and sand.
Once the new playground opens, the old playground will be closed and equipment inspected by an independent consultant on its safety and suitability for re-use in another location.
